SCSI (Pronounced SKUZZY) Abbreviation for Small Computer Systems Interface. An interfacing system for using hard drives, scanners, CD-ROM drives and similar peripherals with a computer. Each SCSI device has its own ID number and no two SCSI devices in the same chain must be set to the same number. The last SCSI device in the chain should be terminated, either via an internal terminator, where provided or via a plug-in terminator fitted to a free SCSI socket.
Simplex 2 way audio, switched both ways. See also full duplex and half duplex.
Speaker Level The signal output from an amplifier to feed a speaker. Sometimes very high level.
Star Quad Audio Cable usually used for microphone signals which has 4 conductors, in 2 pairs. Very good for cancel out noise.
Stick Mic Hand held microphone. Normally used for interviews.
Stormo Two way radio.
String Microphone cable.
Switched Talkback A talkback, which is closed most of the time and only opened when it is needed. See IFB.
