Compact Disk. Optical disk for storage of data. 750Mb and 800Mb are the two main sizes.
Clean Feed
Main program audio feed minus you’re output, i.e. Mix minus. Used to feed telephone calls or for the OB presenter to hear the studio presenter for example.
Clean FX
Clean effects. Only the sound of the crowd for example with no commentary.
Comms Box
Commentary Box. For example the Chris Thorpe DC99 or the Prospect CMU21 both of these unit have 2 microphone amplifiers which output at line level. Also incorporate headphone amplifiers to listen to the return sources and lazy talkback outputs.
Control Line
2 wire talkback, usually used to communicate between the OB and MCR.
This used to use old green field phones, but has been replaced by using 4 wires now.
